This week I received an unexpected request to be part of John Fea’s The Way of Improvement Leaders Home “Author’s Corner.” Fea’s work on religion in the early national period of American history is outstanding and he has spent a significant portion of his teaching life thinking about the study of history as a craft (see Why Study History?  Reflecting on the Importance of the Past). In the author’s corner section of the website, he engages in recently published works in the field of American religious history. Richmond’s Priests and Prophets has now been featured. Glad for the chance to think about questions related to the book and my own sense of being an historian.

Read about the creation of Richmond’s Priests and Prophets and why I became an historian here.
